Baby Shower!

Well, I am the luckiest girl in the world! Some friends got together and threw a baby shower to celebrate baby Lexie Nicole with me! A lot of our friends happened to be out of town this day, but it still turned out so great!

Britta and I... Thank you so much Britta for having us all over!

Britta's crafty decorations... these women are so talented.

The delicious food :-)

Baby girl cupcakes :-) They were so good!

The guests... thank you everyone for coming!

More guests :-)

Thanks everyone for all the generous gifts!

We're so excited for this little girl to come so we can put her in all of her new clothes and hair bows!

What we've been up to...

Well, the weather hasn't been the greatest, and I am getting pretty big, but we have managed to have some family fun the past two weeks or so...

Big smile :-)

We definately play a lot of cars!

...and do a lot of building block-towers!

When it occasionally gets warm enough out, we fill up the pool and play with the hose :-) This was the day we lost Jason's swim trunks and sandals (I left them on the car to dry off, and Mike drove away with them!)... so he ran around in his swim diaper for the day!

Of course we induldge in the occasional Happy Meal!

We go to the park often. This was two weeks ago... I still had almost two months to go!

Jason is thinking "Wow, I have the coolest Dad EVER!"

Jason playing KanJam at his cousin Mollie's graduation party! He just loved playing with all of the older boys!

This is the greatest park ever! This kiddie pool is free- pool toys and all! Plus there is a big playground, and a sandbox- complete with trucks and shovels! When it gets warm enough we like to come here and picnic!

This past week my poor baby had some kind of virus. He had a fever over 103 for a few days, and couldn't eat anything. He was tough though, he would still run sprints through the house every once in a while! He's all better now!

Kids' room in progress...

Well, we're trying to squeeze both kids into Jason's room. I am trying to keep it half pink and half blue with some green accents on both sides...

The left side is for Lexie, and the right side is Jason's.

Here is the baby girls side so far... not too much to do on a budget, and without painting!

We strung all of her hair bows and flowers here because they are so pretty (thanks to everyone who generously made them for her) and because it will prevent them from getting squished.

Her wall decorations.

Jason's side, and his wall decorations.

More of Jason's side. I didn't open the curtains for the pic, because Jason hid the ties under his bed and I am too big to get them!

No more Binky...

Well today is the day. We decided that Jason is much too big to sleep with a binky anymore. Unfortunately he doesn't share our enthusiasm. He has only been able to have it during naptime and bedtime, but he has become quite attached to it. Lately he even asks for it during the day (which is part of the reason we know it is long overdue to dispose of it). If anyone has any advice on how to make this transition easier, we would love to hear it. Poor little guy is crying his eyes out in his little bed. He is calling out B... BEEEE! We feel so terrible for him, but know it is for his own good. Sorry baby boy. Wish us luck!
...Well it only took about 20-30 minutes and he fell asleep without it! Maybe this is it! I thought the transiton to cups from bottles would be difficult, and he never noticed they were gone. I thought he would not transition well into his toddler bed and I was wrong- he loves it, and consequentley is terrified of his old crib now. Maybe I underestimate the little guy? We're keeping our fingers crossed- that he won't be too traumatized!

4th of July

We had a very busy 4th this year. First we headed down to a family member's cottage in Angola for a lunch BBQ. It wasn't very warm, and was VERY windy, but Jason hit the beach anyway. He and Mike got to fly his new kite right before he fell into the lake! Then Jason got to go to his friend Spencer's birthday celebration (Jason's first party). Afterwards we headed to a huge park for a church BBQ. We had such a fun day, and got to spend all day with great friends and family.

Here are the pics...

Here is my little Hammy a few minutes before he went tumbling into the cold lake. He had such a cute "4th of July" outfit on under this sweatshirt, but unfortunately it didn't make it on film (mostly because it was soaked and he had to change).

Here are Spencer, Crew, Garret, and Jason celebrating!

Jason actually wasn't afraid of the swings! He had a great time playing with his Daddy and some friends.

Here he is again at the park, having a great time.

We did stay out a little too late. Here is Jason almost 2 hours past bedtime... being Hammy of course! ...We did pay for keeping him out too late later, and the next day :-(

32 1/2 Weeks

Well it has been a few weeks since the last pregnancy update... so here is a new picture. We still have about 8 weeks until my due date, but we will probably go in after her a week early! We had a check-up recently and all seems to be well! We are so excited for her to come!
