Movin' on up

Our little lady has been going through a lot of changes in the last month or so.  She moved to a toddler bed in June, stopped sleeping with a binky and wearing diapers in the beginning of August, and last night she slept in her very one BIG GIRL bed!! She couldn't be happier about it. She keeps walking around saying "happy." Way to go Lexie!

Lexie's 2nd Birthday!

The day of Lexie's actualy birthday was pretty low key.  First the kids had homemade guac for their morning snack, and then the boys and I sang to Lexie with mini cupcakes from Aunt Amy.  The kids loved them. Then we went to the playground and saw some friends.  We came home to an awesome birthday package from Durham (Grandma, Grandpa, & Aunt Laura).  Every little girls dream... 10 outfits, and some books and a toy! Later in the evening Grandma came by to see our new 2 year old too!

Here are some things I want to remember about this fiesty little lady at age 2:
  • She is starting to talk more and more.  She finally calls me "Mommy," and she also says everyone elses names in our immediate family. It is so nice for her to covney her wants and needs verbally!
  • She got rid of her binky last week without too much fuss.  We took the to the mailbox for the mailman to give to little babies and that was that.  She slept less, but is getting back to normal.
  • She is in the process of potty training.  She never had a pee accident, but she is afraid to go #2... we are working on that, and fast!
  • She likes to have 2 of everything.  Pieces of food, toys, whatever... she wants one in each hand.  She sleeps with two toys now, her bunny and her lion, and she calls them, "two ahbee" (two babies).
  • She is and always has been a great kisser.  I love when she kisses me out of the blue.
  • She has a rough side and a girly side.  She will play with her lion rawring, and then make the lion kiss the other toy that it was scaring!  So cute.
  • She keeps me very busy.  She is so fearless, and will take off without warning.  She isn't scared of anything which scares me to death!
  • She can drink from a regular cup.
  • She is a fantastic eater!  She will eat almost anything I make.  She loves fresh fruit and veggies.  Lately she has been on a carrot kick!
  • She doesn't listen very well.  I could repeat myself 5000 times and still get nothing out of her.  We are working on that.

    Lexie's Birthday Party

Lexie is still in her "no pictures" stage, so there aren't many.  For her 2nd birthday she had a Jungle party!  It was yummy! We had bruschetta, strawberry, walnut, spinach salad, teryaki chicken kabobs, coconut rice, mango salsa, corn on the cobb, a variety of other "junlgey" snacks, and coconut, pineapple cake! All homemade, yumm! Lexie had a fun time and was way spoiled again!  I think the party was a success!

Lexie just loved this mermaid and she never even saw the movie... She just liked brushing her hair.

    Tim and Stephanie's Wedding

I love weddings and these guys!  We are so glad we got to spend their special day with them! We had so much fun visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. Our camera was on the wrong setting I guess, so most of our pics aren't that great, but here are some favs anyway.

    Jason's 1st Game

Watching Jason play soccer is so much fun!  He is the youngest on his team, and so cute.  Some of the kids are really good (mostly the 6 yr olds).  Jason just loves running with the pack! He still gets a little nervous when we first get to the games, but he is fine once he gets to start practicing.  At his first game the coach asked me to watch the bench, and I think that helped Jason having me there for reassurance.  At his most recent game he dod the best.  He is definately improving.  He kicked the ball about 10 times!  GO JASON!
