Lexie's Birthday...

So I thought I would through this story in here before it gets too late. Lexie was due to arrive on Augest 23rd. We had scheduled a repeat C-section for the 18th (after our DR tries to put it off until the 24th when he'd get back from vaca). Through my whole pregnancy, from the moment I found out when the baby was due... I wished for her to come on the 10th. I knew they'd never schedule it that early... but still I hoped. I wanted the 10th for silly reasons. Jason's birthday is 06-08-07... like 6...7...8... but out of order. So I thought Lexie being born on 08-10-09 would be so cool! This also would mean that they would be 2 years, 2months, and 2 days apart! Anyway I never thought I would actually go into labor and have her the exact day I wanted all along. I just can't believe it... I willed her to be born.

So on the 9th it was a Sunday and I noticed I started having very mild and painless contractions... at very regular intervals. I never had braxton hicks or flase labor- so I didn't know what to make of it. The following Monday I called the office and they told me to head to the hospital to get checked out. Even headed to the hospital I didn't realize we were about to have our baby. I dropped Jason off at a friend's (thanks Rachel) and told him I'd be right back :-( I later found out no kids can visit the hospital due to the Swine Flu! I didn't feel any contractions the whole way to the hospital and thought we were just wasting our time... but once we got there we found out they were infact coming every 2 minutes! After the DR (whom I had never met) told us we were having her that day, I thought we'd atleast have a few hours to prepare... I was wrong- we had her in less than one hour. Poor Mike had to take part of his CPA exam 2 days later! We were totally unprepared!

So with both kids I knew in advance I was having a C-section, and yet with them both I didn't know until the day they were born that they were coming. Even more crazy is that with both of them I didn't sleep the night before I had them. With Jason I was up all night because I was upset we wern't having him for another week... my DR said we were going to have him and changed the dates. With Lexie there were loud thunder storms all night coupled with my anxiety over what the DR would say in the morning.

We love our kids, and feel so blessed to have them!
